Part-Time Research Assistant (Madison, WI)
BA or BS Required, ideal for a graduate student in Social or Health Sciences
15-20 hours per week
$16-$18/hour depending on experience
Projected start date: 6/1/21
Qualitative Health Research Consultants, LLC (QHRC) is recruiting a part-time Research Assistant to assist the company in research projects in our flexible downtown Madison office. We are looking for highly motivated, empathetic, and analytical researchers who want to join our six-year-old women-owned health services research consulting firm at the ground level. Work from home option available during Covid-19.
Responsibilities include: For nationwide study on patient perceptions on health disparities: study coordination, including outreach, screening and scheduling interview and focus group participants; assist in focus groups and interviews with study participants, and participating in bi-weekly interviewing workshop; learning NVivo 12 software, coding interview transcripts, attending coding meetings.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following qualifications:
- Excellent listening, verbal communication, and social skills
- Interest in learning qualitative research methods from the ground up
- Attention to detail
- Reliability and punctuality
- Skills using Office Suite software, including Word, Excel, Power Point
- Comfort with Apple Computers
- Some background in health policy or clinical research
- Spanish-speaking a plus
- BA or BS in progress or completed in Health Science or Social Science discipline
This position is compensated at a rate of $16-$18/hour, depending on education level and experience.
QHRC serves clinical and public health researchers by providing qualitative research design, data collection, and data analysis, with an emphasis on health outcomes, health disparities, and health-related quality of life.
